Lisa Larrabee |
Lisa Larrabee is best known for her unique figurative paintings, which stylistically blur the boundaries between the figure and its environment. Her paintings visually convey the intangible connection between people, nature, and the subconscious. Lisa creates artwork that allows us to slow down and contemplate our relationships with others and the world around us.
She builds an expressive and textured surface using oil and cold wax medium with improvised tools, rollers, and pallet knives before refining her image with traditional oil painting methods.
The effect feels both timeless and contemporary. Specific details emerge while others remain in the viewer's mind. As you can see below, the result is ethereal poetry.
